All the farmer organizations involved in the United Farmers Front may have been unanimous on the three agricultural laws, but their political ambitions cannot be denied. Many other farmer leaders including Gurnam Singh Chaduni and Balbir Singh Rajewal have started thinking about their political innings. Farmers’ organizations are also not in favor of prolonging the movement…
The central government and the farmers’ movement are again trying to walk on the raw ‘door’ of trust. On the completion of one year of the movement, the farmers celebrated at the borders of Delhi. A large number of farmers gathered. Since the election of many states including UP is on the head, then in just 24 hours, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar came forward and appealed to the agitating farmers to show a big heart. Said, when PM sahib has withdrawn all three agriculture laws, then farmers should return to their homes. Experts have linked this move of the Center with the elections. While the BJP is engulfed in the electoral flames, farmers’ organizations are also facing the ‘poll’ smoke. In the United Kisan Morcha ‘SKM’, now the talk of ‘election’ has started being openly. This is the reason why the SKM gave the Center 144 hours to think, understand and do.
PM reply to our letter, the movement is suspended!
Dr. Darshanpal, a senior member of SKM, says, in the letter written to the Prime Minister, giving legal guarantee of MSP, dismissal of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’, accused of Lakhimpur Kheri incident, during the agitation in various states. There are many demands like the police cases registered against the farmers should be withdrawn and compensation to the martyr farmer families. The PM has not yet given any reply on these demands. The central government should complete them by December 4. The movement has only been postponed, not ended. The government should come to the table and talk. What will be the direction of further movement, it will be announced on December 4. Right now the Parliament House Tractor March of 29 November has been postponed. Rakesh Tikait says, if the government accepts the demand for making a law on Minimum Support Price, then farmers will go home. Yes, along with this, the Center will also have to accept the other demands of the United Kisan Front, only then they will return from the borders of Delhi.
Why is there a raw thread of trust between the Center and the farmers!
Avik Saha, national president of Jai Kisan Andolan, says, how can we trust the government. What happened a year ago? The BJP government at the Center had asked any farmer organization before making three agriculture laws. Was he invited to interact with the farmers? After that, after completing eleven rounds of meetings, the peasants were forced to carry forward the movement. Tell one thing in such a way that farmers can trust this government. The thread of trust is not weak, but it is broken. As Avik Saha, now the Prime Minister is saying that three agriculture have come back, so it is okay, when these laws are returned in Parliament, the farmers will agree. Everything will be on paper. More than seven hundred farmers were killed. The government did not even say two words of sympathy on the death of a farmer. Farmers were crushed to death by jeep in Lakhimpur Kheri. So how can you trust this government?
This is the big reason behind giving ultimatum of 144 hours
All the farmer organizations involved in the United Farmers Front may have been unanimous on the three agricultural laws, but their political ambitions cannot be denied. Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Rakesh Tikait, Dr. Darshanpal and Yogendra Yadav have all seen electoral politics. In the press conference that took place on Friday, Rakesh Tikait and Yogendra Yadav were not there. Many other leaders also could not reach there due to being out somewhere. Many other farmer leaders including Gurnam Singh Chaduni and Balbir Singh Rajewal have started thinking about their political innings. The Aam Aadmi Party is in touch with most of the farmers’ organizations associated with Punjab. Farmers’ organizations are also not in favor of prolonging the movement. There were reports of differences in the front regarding MSP. Now the 144-hour ultimatum given by the Front to the Central Government, during which the SKM will be able to decide its new direction. The central government, on the other hand, is stuck in the elections. He knows that bringing the farmers back to the situation they were in a year ago means incurring political losses in the elections. In such a situation, the central government also wants to end this issue. If the farmers are adamant, then the government will show a soft corner to accept the remaining demands of the farmers.
Will not contest elections in the name of ‘United Kisan Morcha’
According to senior SKM functionary Yogendra Yadav, it has been a clear view from day one that there will be no politics on the front platform. There are people of different political ideologies in the front. No election will be fought in the name of United Kisan Front. SKM decided only in Bengal elections that it has to defeat BJP there. The United Kisan Front did not contest elections there either. Yadav said, after 70 years the farmer has got a national platform, to use it in elections, it will be a very small use. Farmers should become the pivot of the politics of this country, this should be its aim. SKM will not become a platform for electoral politics. Front has no objection to any member forming his own party, contesting elections. As a Yadav, the farmers have doubts about the intentions of this government. If such an attempt is made, then we will answer it. Through the Kisan Andolan, the farmer of the country has regained the lost self-respect and unity. Farmers have now realized their power.
