Sacha Sauda Manager And Chairperson did Not Appear Before Sit Despite Summons In Sacrilege Case

Despite summoning the SIT team probing the theft and sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, two officials of Dera Sacha Sauda did not reach Ludhiana on Friday. SIT chief IG SPS Parmar told that summons had been sent on his behalf to Dera manager PR Nayan and chairperson Vipassana Insan to join the investigation. PR Nayan has sent his medical saying that he is not feeling well, while Vipassana Insan is not known for the last one and a half years. Even before this summons have been given twice, in such a situation, the police will be forced to take action if they do not appear again and again.

Police had registered three separate cases in the year 2015 regarding the theft of holy form from Burj Jawahar Singhwala and the shootings in Bahibalkalan and Kotkapura. Five Dera lovers Randeep Singh alias Neela, Ranjit Singh, Baljit Singh, Nishan Singh and Narinder Kumar Sharma were arrested, who are now out on bail. Lookout notices were issued against three members of Dera Sacha Sauda National Committee, Sandeep Bareta, Pradeep Kler and Harsh Dhuri. No trace of these three has been found till date. On 6 July 2019, the Dera chief was named in the FIR No-62 registered at the Bajakhana police station in connection with the theft of a holy form from Burj Jawahar Singhwala and now the Dera chief has been taken on production warrant for questioning in the same case.

In early November, SIT chief SPS Parmar, SSP Mukhwinder Bhullar questioned Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a sentence in Sunaria jail. The Dera chief did not give satisfactory answers to the questions to the police. He said that the decision of working in the Dera was taken by the Management Committee, so the Management Committee of the Dera has been called to join the investigation. Therefore, the SIT is sending summons to Dera Manager PR Nayan and Chairperson Vipassana Insan asking them to join the investigation.
