Former Minister Joginder Mann Quits Congress Ahead Of Punjab Assembly Polls

Joginder Singh Mann hails from Phagwara light and has a good reputation in the entire region, but he was upset for several days after Congress President Navjot Sidhu went in favor of sitting MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal.

Before the assembly elections, the Congress has suffered a major setback in Punjab. Former Union Home Minister Buta Singh’s nephew and Congress stalwart Dalit leader Joginder Singh Mann has resigned from the party on Makar Sankranti. Mann has spoken of leaving the Congress alleging that the culprits of the post-matric scholarship scam should not be punished and Phagwara was not made a district. There is speculation about Mann joining the Aam Aadmi Party.

Mann was also a strong contender for the Congress ticket from the reserved light Phagwara, but was said to be upset over the possibility of not getting the ticket. Mann has been a minister in the governments of former CMs Beant Singh, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Harcharan Singh Brar and Captain Amarinder Singh.

Congress is cheating with Dalits

Mann accused the Congress of sheltering the culprits of Dr. BR Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship scam and said that the government is failing to protect the interests of the children of Dalits. This is a complete betrayal of Dalit society. Mann, who was an MLA from Phagwara in 1985, 1992 and 2002, said that I wanted my body to be wrapped in the Congress flag after my death, but the post-matric scholarship scheme on behalf of maharajas, amirs and opportunists like Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu My conscience no longer allows me to stay in the party because of giving shelter to the culprits. Hurt by this, I am leaving the Congress with a full heart.
