He thanks India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, who ordered the reopening of the Kartarpur Corridor after a long time. This is a historic occasion, as the corridor has been reopened after the pandemic.
The CM said that the sangat and people of Sri Kartarpur Sahib based in Pakistan have given him a lot of love. The state government will soon start free buses from across the state so that the pilgrims can visit this holy place. These buses will ply till the corridor for the convenience of the permitted pilgrims to Sri Kartarpur Sahib.
The Punjab government is committed to the well being of every section of the state. CM Channi said that he appeals to the governments of both the countries to make the process of visa for pilgrims very short and simple. He said that he urges the governments of both the countries to start business.
CM Channi said that apart from giving impetus to economic activities in the region, it will also help in improving people-to-people contact between the two countries. Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Husan Lal, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Tiwari were present on the occasion.
